Our three pillars, computation, experiment, and AI, validate and accelerate one another: calculations propose candidates, experiments verify them, and the resulting data refines our models.

Computational Materials Science

Using first-principles DFT/VASP calculations, we compute adsorption energies and reaction pathways on catalyst surfaces, identifying active sites and mechanisms of electrochemical reactions at the atomic level.

Graph neural networks enable large-scale screening across vast alloy and oxide composition spaces, rapidly narrowing down promising candidates. High-throughput calculations run on our in-house HPC cluster.

Beyond catalysis, we also pursue computational design of corrosion- and plasma-resistant materials for semiconductor processing.

Electrochemical Energy Conversion

We study water electrolysis, the key technology for green hydrogen production. We design and synthesize electrocatalysts for the oxygen and hydrogen evolution reactions (OER/HER), validating them beyond half-cell tests in PEM/AEM single-cell electrolyzers.

Topics span from low-iridium oxide catalysts and PGM-free (oxy)hydroxides to electrode-electrolyte interface engineering, connecting materials to systems.

AI 기반 소재 탐색AI-driven Materials Discovery

Machine learning lets us explore materials spaces far beyond the reach of experiment or computation alone. Our work includes activity prediction for ternary alloy catalysts and stability mapping of real-scale nanoparticles.

Our goal is a closed loop where model predictions feed real materials development, built on pipelines that connect computational data with experimental results.
